Plant Identifier: AI Care ("we", "our", or "us") is a mobile application that identifies plants from photos, provides plant care information, disease and pest references, watering reminders, and local weather. This application is operated in connection with the https://insutora.dev website.

This page is used to inform users regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service, the Plant Identifier: AI Care mobile application.

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation with this policy. The information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Do NOT Collect

The application does not require an account. You do not sign up, sign in, or provide us with a name, email address, phone number, or payment details. We do not operate our own servers and we do not maintain a user profile for you.

The following data is stored only on your device in a local database and is never uploaded to us:

Your scan history and the plants you save to "My Plants" and to your Spaces;
The names, notes, and care journal entries you write for your plants;
Your watering reminders, care schedules, language preference, and app settings.

Information Collection and Use

For a better experience while using our Service, the application processes certain information:

Photos you scan. When you take a photo or pick one from your gallery to identify a plant, the image is resized and compressed on your device and then sent to the MyPlantin identification service, which returns the matching plant. The temporary file created for the upload is deleted immediately after the request completes. We do not keep a copy of your photos, and the application does not upload any other image from your gallery.
Approximate or precise location. If you grant the location permission, your coordinates are used solely to request the current weather for your area from OpenWeatherMap. The coordinates are used for that request only; they are not stored by us and are not linked to any identifier. The location permission is optional — every other feature of the app works without it, and if you deny it the weather card simply shows an error message.
Optional AI plant assistant. If the in-app AI assistant is available and you choose to use it, the question you type together with the context of the selected plant (species, care settings, your care journal entries, and current weather) is sent through Firebase AI Logic to Google's Gemini model to generate an answer. Only the plants and questions you actively open the assistant for are sent. If you do not use this feature, nothing is sent.
Reports about AI answers. If you choose to report an answer generated by the AI assistant (by long-pressing it and confirming in the report dialog), the text of that answer, the reason you select, and the plant's catalogue id are sent to us through Firebase Analytics. We review these reports to improve the assistant and its content filtering. Nothing is sent unless you explicitly submit a report, and the dialog states that the answer's text travels with it.
Usage and diagnostic data. We use Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, and Cloud Messaging) to collect anonymous usage statistics and crash reports, such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, and crash logs. This data helps us improve stability and user experience.
Push notification token. Firebase Cloud Messaging assigns your installation an anonymous token so we can deliver notifications. It is not tied to your identity and is reset when you uninstall the app or clear its data.

Camera and Photo Permission

The app requests access to your device camera and to your photo library solely so that you can capture or select a picture of a plant to identify. The camera preview is processed on your device in real time and is never recorded. Only the single image you explicitly choose to scan is sent for identification.

Notification and Alarm Permissions

The app requests permission to post notifications and to schedule exact alarms so that your watering and plant care reminders can appear at the time you selected. Reminders are created, stored, and triggered entirely on your device.

These third parties may have access to limited technical information only to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose. Advertising and Selling of Data

This application contains no advertising networks and no in-app purchases. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.

Security

We value your trust and apply reasonable technical measures to protect your data:

All network communication uses encrypted HTTPS connections; cleartext traffic is disabled;
Your plants, notes, journal entries, and reminders remain in the app's private storage on your device, which other applications cannot read;
Release builds do not log network requests, responses, or tokens;
The in-app policy viewer runs with JavaScript and DOM storage disabled.

But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because your plants, history, notes, and reminders are stored locally on your device, you remain in control of them. You can delete individual items inside the app, or delete everything at once by clearing the app's data in your device settings or by uninstalling the application. Since we do not hold an account for you, there is no server-side profile left to delete.

Our Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children's Privacy

Our Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to take necessary actions.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, we advise you to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
